Can I just say
the world is much easier today

can I just add
it's sunnier this morning

I might point out
that a win does this
it cuddles the heart and pats the soul
its like an unknown tree for a wandering dog
or a girl who keeps looking your way
or a night and morning
and she wants you to stay

I might further develop this
but I cannot stop grinning
i'ts been black as the ace of late
but now its all hearts
and even Big Lance
makes me smile
this morning

Oh I know the picks, the dribble, the future
'the future, the future is rosewood'
the investment, the crappy list,
the superannuation, the 5 year plan
blah blah blah

but this morning
all footballing rationalists can go
take a high flying speccie
off the end of St Kilda pier

just for this morning
I like this glow
and the fact that the papers
are not like very used nappies
stinking to high heaven
with our feats of late

this morning
a cuppa
the unrolling of the age
and time to ponder
the intricasies of a win
are far better
than any drafting revolution.

Just this morning I might just say
if I may
I feel rather grand
like a dapper man
who'se had a sexy dalliance
and now struts home again
all sort of all 'cock a hoop' with life -
you know that feeling
that sort of key jingling
heel clicking
bird singing feeling

a sort of Tony Barber whistling moment
but without Tony Barber

can I just say that

oh and now having read further i apologize, i should never be glad with a win 'cos that apparentyly means I'm brain dead, can't see the water for the waves, have no future planning and am an ignorant tool who is destroying any chance this great club has of ever being great again.

To all i have offended with my uncontained joy

I must humbly apologize and assure you it will not happen again

unless we beat the bummers!

You bloody Irish bastard, I'll bet you're pissed and singing right now aren't you?

The Irish have always been good at living for the moment. You're a long time dead and all that.

But I have the good fortune of being half Irish and half Italian. So I inherited the ability to both live in the moment AND beat a tactical retreat in order to fight my battle another day.

So I can quite easily spend Sunday rejoicing like a mad Irishman in our great win, and the rest of the week with both eyes firmly fixed on the next great Carlton Empire.

You should drink less beer and more red wine, danny.

I would but no one had shown me how to get a head on a good red.

as for the singing stuff - hey I'm also Scottish somewhere in my highland jeans so i know how to be as frugal as a yarnless sheep on a freezing Tor.

but gee it is good to dance a little jig

and stuff the italians we irish whacked the crap out of them centuries ago - how do you think the romans ever managed to beat those pesky Etruscans?

Gee that'll make me everyone's friend now won't it. 8)

JohnM said it not me!
