Locke, maybe you misread the site's title? This place is tankingcarlton.com

The site you're looking for is talkingcarlton.com, and it's located elsewhere.

When we get good again no one here is going to have anything to talk about. Well probably win the Premiership and everyone will be asking us to tank the grand final so we can get pick 15 instead of 16

Well now that would just be silly, the runner up usually gets pick 17.

BM = BlueMark

He's got an avatar similar to yours. Just like you, BM also wants to win every game... and believes Lance should be on 300-350K... That's why I asked you whether you were his son in another thread. Not sure why you answered my question with "Da comrade bluebernz" ?? :?

Thanks for causing mass confusion mate! I'm taking back that warm welcome I gave ya!! :P

Why is everyone on this site so determined to lose every week

Because people are starting to think long-term rather than short-term.

Because winning more than 5 games will cost us an early draft pick.

Because even if the draft is even, a high pick, should we choose to trade it (which we won't) will get us a good player.

Why are you so determined to win when winning means we lose draft picks at the end of the year?

I am pro-Carlton - I think to win in the long-term we need to lose. Go backwards to go forwards.

Synbad I seriously think you are not an intelligent man. Everyone gets it. So @#$%&! what. You have no control over it nor do I . It will or it will not happen so please lets not beat chests and drums and dicks and whatever else comes to hand. Lets just enjoy this plast few games where we can all stand at the Dome and MCG and some can sing the song at the start and others at the end and hope that the AFL fix this crap before too many people succumb to a system where losing is winning and winning is losing and we play for @#$%&! all but a draft pick.

Its logical. It will deliver sense.

It sickens and saddens me. It is as economic rationalist as a closed school or overcrowded hospital. its the system, play the system and forget the rest.

You know what. I've tried but I know its wrong. You know its wrong. But becuase this is sport we do not care as long as we win (by losing so we can win).

Sometimes I think @#$%&! i hope we win the next 4 games so we can be absolutely stuffed and then fix ourselves up.

then i break out in a cold sweat.

I have honour

and I am a coward

I hope we win

and expect to lose

and probably survive regardless.

Everyone knows it's wrong.
Some of us believe we need to work with the system rather than against.

But like you said, no point in going over old ground.

yep shifting is right 'cos its the head versus heart thing and the right versus the logic thing but mostly its becuase of the way anyone who says they want carlton to win gets attacked as a rabid dog intent on dragging the club down - that got me thinking why?
