Have no doubt i want to smash a lot of clubs next year ... pay back for all the shite i have put up from supporters and next year i will look forward to hamering many teams next year...

Cripes i already know supporters who are hoping that the blues win a couple of games so they miss out on the PP they think thats even better than us coming last... THey look at our results and if we did win a couple of junk end of season games to get off the bottom they know we will be further behind the 8 ball. So i am looking forward to some pay back next season

I dont know what you guys think when you are watching a game but i bet it isnt i hope we lose so we get a PP. It is cum on blues you get beat these mongrols.

It is in our blood to win and that is all we should be thinking. We should try to win every week and the idea that Pagan is tanking is ridiculues. The secon hed suggest that Collo would throw him out the door. Collo wants to win every week.

Do you think if you looked Collo in the eye he'd tell you that?

Do you honestly believe Collo when he says we're trying to win?

but why does it matter if people want us to win? Why the need to argue with them? or to panic about their views? Do you think they influence collo one iota?

We have no bearing onthis year's result.

Either the club is tanking (ie cheating)

or the club is playing its guts out and a) are shithouse and will lose.

or B) will have a mini renaisaince and we'll win a few.

what we think is not relevant. So why are we arguing about this constantly?

Guilt?

Fear?

Clutching at marcstraws?

Every single supporter here doesnt wanna lose, doesnt like the hurt or the dent in the pride we hate it. Thats why this topic has been done to death for 15 weeks because we hate to flower lose but thats our hearts.

But as the sayin goes DONT LET YOUR HEART RULE YOUR HEAD. All of our hearts are bleeding and our pride is being torn out stepp on/spat on by people who only wish their teams have givin em as much reason to be proud and superior as us.

Those picks whether it be Murphy Jones Ellis Hurn etc give us the opportunity to "shove it up" the opposition in a couple of yrs if all goes well.

Those that want to win the remaining games are subjecting themselves to further pain next few years. I'm willing to go through the next 4 rounds with losses. Even in the remote chance we win the last 4 games, we still have THE WORST list in AFL. THE WORST

And if we if we don't get the PP, enjoy pick 5, cause I won't be

This can be minimised by getting picks 1 & 3, and possibly other 1st rounders pending trade outcomes.

It's as simple as that!!!!

At the start of the year nobody wanted the priority pick, but now it's bloody obvious we need one. Lets not get carried away with last weekends result. To win 2 out of the last 4 would be pretty unlikely given that we've only won 3 out of 18.

This whole argument is not about 1 player ( Murphy ) it's about 2 very talented youngster as opposed to 1. I'm prepared to take a smack around the ears for the next couple of years if we can build a list like St.Kilda's.

This whole argument about us being Carlton and we don't do these kind of things is complete and utter crap. The great Carlton of old lived in an era of no salary cap, no draft, just free agency. We spent up big and got the best available. Theres atleast 10 clubs who can spend more than we could now so the old Carlton is dead and buried, lift your eyes people and look to the future.

This is the system that gives us the ONLY chance we have to become great again. If they scrapped the salary cap, scrapped the draft, could we seriously outbid Collingwood, Essendon* and the interstate clubs? I think not.

This is where your argument is fallacious - by design or not, you're implying that we won't win another flag unless we have picks 1 and 3 in the draft.

This is what I've been arguing against all along and you don't seem to get it. You're right in that these players will help Carlton win a flag but your implication that we won't win one without them is what I find nonsensical.

Then what will win us THAT flag, B2005?

Whats not nonsensical is chances are we WONT win a premiership but that more talent and better talent gives you a better chance ....

Does that clarify anything for you???

Read what I'm saying properly.

I've never argued that we don't need talent. I've never argued that we don't need good young talent. My only objection is with the implication that UNLESS WE GET MURPHY/ELLIS etc then we can't possibly win a flag any time in the next epoch. The club is bigger than one player no matter how good he is and will achieve glory again the future regardless of what draft picks we have this season. The insinuation that Murphy/Ellis etc are the only way we'll win a premiership also places an inordinate and unrealistic amount of pressure on these kids which is unhealthy and greedy.

You know, going back through THAT thread, I don't think I ever once stated that Murphy or Ellis would lead us to a flag or that they are the be all and end all of the draft.

What I did say was that we would be stupid if, by our own fault, we made ourselves unavailable to pick up either of these two.
