A good assessment Jim but I cant agree on Warnock. I thought his ruckwork was average and he seemed more intent on avoiding contact than feeding his on ballers. Scott Thompson sharked 75% of his hitouts. I thought Hampson won more ball in the middle and provided more mobility and physical presence around the stoppages.
A big step up from Hammer IMO.
I thought both our rucks struggled in the ruck - though perhaps I'm just used to seeing clear taps to advantage from jacobs

Good to see hampson stick a couple of contested marks though - you could hear the crowd go up everytime one of them stuck

Missed the 1st 1/4 but from what I saw
positives
hampson - taking contested marks
yarran - cant wait to see what he does in the regular season - if you dont have him in your dream teams and what not then you are nuts. Cant wait till he gets a full tank (elite fitness/15+beep)
garlett - classy & dangerous as usual
waite - looked dangerous at times without really dominating
robinson - love his desperation. Created a goal from a desperate dive into the pack to extract the ball in the second (might have been waites snap?). I'd have him in my 22 for rd 1 - instant impact player
gibbs - has been quiet this preseason - I dont think he is really pushing himself as yet (perhaps as some have pointed out he is under instructions?)
simon white - no specfics but he always seems to do one or two nice things that leave me with a good impression of him on the day - and I'm quite sure its more than the kouta number...
collins - liked what I saw of him - obviously not as big as grigg but looks to be a more dangerous player (especially around goals!)
negatives
nuff nuffs in the crowd - was sitting behind the interchange area in the 3rd and some wanker yelled to bower that there is always next year when he was coming off with what looked to be an injury (assisted, arm held in a jumper sling).
my eyes - I need glasses

- was struggling to pick up players at the other end of the field and could hear some guys behind me chatting about the various players involved in the play. Turned around and it was a couple of old blokes (50+) who obviously had better eyesight than mine

- on the brightside, I've got time to get my glasses done before the season opener
