Gibbs is playing pretty good footy at the moment - he's probably leading the BnF - so I'm not sure why there'd be any angst.
Add that to him being asked to played a variety of roles throughout his career, none of which he's truly excelled in, but by the same token none of which he's failed in either.
His career has been curtailed somewhat by his perceived versatility.
He's a very good footballer. Better than a speculative pick in the draft.
I am not sure too many are criticising his football. The issue is was it the right decision for the club moving forward?
Are we going to compete for Top 4 in the next 5 years or are we better off building for the next 10 years?
Most people are quite happy with the way he has played this year. He has been very good. The level of output over 160 games IMO hasn't been that great.
I believe what your seeing in most comments is an underlying level of frustration and anger. People are sick of us struggling. We are not much better than we were a decade ago.
Supporters have a right to question any decisions especially at the moment. Mixed messages keep coming from the club and decisions that seem to make little sense and show little direction.
good post
the dilemma is that by signing him we may have missed out on another top ten pick, although this is not guaranteed
could be a potential A grade key position player that would be more valuable than Gibbs in the long run
on the other foot you have a very good player, who has been durable and offers a consistency that would greatly benefit a transitioning team
hopefully, the club has started making the right decisions
