i actually think the something blue marketing campaign isnt bad. but i sign up every year regardless, so i dont really need to be impressed.
didnt think the campaign was horrible in any respect but I dont think it would have convinced any member to resign or more importantly any new members to sign up. It didnt sell any of our players or the future. I had no idea that was SOS's mum(?) or that marc murphy was in the ad until it was mentioned in these boards. Dave hughes on the add - i like him as a comedian but how does having him in a playing uniform panting sell memberships? - if anything it might suggest that our team is a joke.
The ads should be convincing people to sign on because they are able to sell the clubs passion, the youth or a positive future - imho the ad did neither of those and has failed.
Off the top of my head the membership ads that i've seen this year
saints - didnt think it sold the footy clubs future or flag chances (which would be their big selling point) - wtf are the players doing community service items for? - they arent the ymca - bad ad imho
dogs - good clean positive ad - think they have done well
hawks - always liked the hardcore hawks campaigns - it sells passion, though perhaps at this stage of their development they should perhaps shift the campaign to selling the clubs future - younger players, waverly facilities etc
tigers - the tattoo parlour - average - to me it appears to be a cheap ripoff of the hardcore hawks campaign though is less clever.
carlton - see above.
