I think this thread should be renamed "Calculon"

Some of the biggest and most flamboyant over-reactions to something so minor that you'll ever see

HE'S HARMING THE VERY IMAGE OF THE CLUB!!!!!!!

NEWSFLASH: THE CLUB WAS [REDACTED] BEFORE THE PETITION.. THE BIGGEST EFFECT IT COULD HAVE IN THE MEDIA IS THAT CARLTON FANS ARE UNSETTLED WITH OUR PERFORMANCES AND WANT CHANGE.....

DEERRRR!!! WE ARE!!!!!

Sydney Blue's sig sums it up. Some of you guys are in dreamworld about where this club is at, and you have your fingers in your ears trying to pretend its not happening.

OR you could be realistic and become an agent for change. Thats all Cammo is doing... he's communicating a message to the club that we're unhappy (or at least the people who sign it are).. THATS IT.... the club can chuck it out (and probably will) and carry on, or they can start the process of change that we need... and that might not necessarily be Pagan's sacking... it could mean anything that makes our appreciation on game-day better (ie, encouraging a youth policy, or sticking fast in trade week to a no-retreads/no trade draft picks policy... or something like that).. in other words, put a PLAN in place.

And that plan should be in place already... All Cammo's media is telling the club, and the footy world, is that Carlton fans expect better.... what the club do with that message is up to them.

Some of the anti-petition outbursts in this thread are laughable.... those people have totally missed the point.

There are different kinds of supporters. The Blues Muse (for example) has a maternal connection to the club... which is totally fine... I can understand her not liking the spirit of the petition, because it trashes someone she loves.... totally fine.. we just have different "styles" and I wouldn't dismiss her right to that connection

But the "bad media" stuff is a joke..... The population of Synbad's "la la land" must be growing exponentially

Well said Tyrant !!

I have read some crap in my time but this thread is simply full of it.

A guy wants to try as best he can to get some urgency into the planning & progression of the club, actually does soemthing about it and he's about to be burnt at the stake as a rebel. FFS, the same people calling for his head on a stick at the ones who come on here week after week and complain bitterly about the way the team plays or the club is run. You can't have it both ways folks, either put up or shutup !!

If you cannot see what effect this petition might have, then you obviously are either an immature flower or a very short-sighted and uncreative person.

As Tyrant stated perfectly, it's not the 'sack Pagan' thing that is necessarily the core of the issue right at the moment, it's the complete package of the club (playing, marketing, membership etc) that is in dire need of an overhaul. All this petition is raising an awareness and if you can't see that, you must be brain-dead.

And as for those trotting out the 'shitting on our club' or 'the media will savage us' lines, good grief - get a friggin life, I never thought I'd resort to using this emoticon but I can't help it. :garthp:

we are very fortunate to have such a detrmined coach like denis pagan because most other coaches would have quit halfway through but you can tell pagan is in this for the long run and he's building for a premiership its not up to supporters to worry about who our coch is its up to supporters to go out and buy their memberships and show that we are still strong. its no good coming and buying a membership when we are good again you gutta stick with us through the hard times and then enjoy the good times or else you really dont deserve to enjoy the good times so if u havent got a membership go out and get one

Cammo might be able to run a sister site, "sackthompson.com" seeing as they got pantsed by Collingwood by more than we did.
