SOrry GWS - just one step in the logic I didn't get but its probably inferred... is the move from 2 to 3 because North gets pick 2 assuming Carlton's win this weekend propels us above them (and it stays that way all season)?
ps North! Who calls them North these days?
Sorry - was thinking circa 2005 and the Bombers would have had Picks 1 and 2 rather than 1 and 17 - you get my drift on the rest though I assume.

I'm with GWS...and George Harris....reality is we need some class A graders more than we need to beat the Kangaroos and I wont be dissapointed if we lose...its the system and Essendon* like Hawthorn and Collingwood did last year have decided to embrace it so we would be silly not to be planning the same...
Actually I don't think I made a judgement on what's best Elwood.
But now that you mention it...
I don't give a stuff about winning right now. I'd prefer to see us go down in a game along the lines of the Eagles game where we back ourselves and run and attack and have a forward line and do all the things that make footy a pleasure to watch rather than win a scrappy floodfest against a crap opposition.
I've said all along that while we're restocking I'd be a happy camper if we lost every match by 1 point playing hard fought exciting football.
At this stage of our development the actual result is just a number and merely provides bragging rights for bogans whose self-worth is based on the ability of their chosen team to beat the chosen team of another bunch of bogans.
Get the development and restocking right however and then we can actually start winning games that matter (like finals and premierships).
At that time I shall release my inner bogan.
