That was my point on this thread..
Posts of this ilk ceased to qualify as a
point long ago. Why don't you just make it a blunt sticky and move on....perhaps you could go back through Carlton God's old threads and find another idea to run with.
Go you big Red Rooster....
billy.. yes its right up yours that big rooster...

RIGHT UP YOURS!!!..
BTW... i dont think you understand the point...
The point is Lance didnt help out the leadership stakes as a senior player and now he wants help....
Ill repeat it again for you if you like..
"If he thinks im going to play like Wayne Carey he has another thing coming!!"
- said to all and sundry.
If he did say it "to all and sundry" it's because all and sundry were standing on the hotspot alongside Lance waiting for the next high bomb to come in as per Pagan's Silly Game Plan. In actual fact it was a statement perhaps very understandably made in a moment of frustration to his mate Molloy of C'wood who, for some reason, went to the press with it.
The crux of the matter is that CFC was (and still is) handing over a big fat cheque to a coach who couldn't tell the difference between Wayne Carey and Lance Whitnall nor Norfs of the 90s and Carlton of the new millenium. Lance was able to see the game plan for what is was (a recipe for failure) a few games into the 2003 pre-season - it would take Pagan another 3 yrs to grudgingly come to the same conclusion.
Ratten was sacked and banished from the club for criticizing Pagan's plan and approach - and Lance had his wings clipped over the ensuing years. You can continue on with your BigFootyesque Fatnall line for all you're worth but it was Pagan's egoistic obsession with a game plan accentuating Lance and the teams' weaknesses that did the most damage to the club's self-belief and development.
Lance is a fine on-the-field leader and having a leader with such a great feel for the game is an enormous advantage to a young developing team. Pagan is pointing the spotlight - as is his want - at the leadership group for the loss against Norfs but the likelihood is that the newer game plan we've played over the past 2 weeks came out of a meeting with the player leadership group. That Pagan has criticized the team's leaders after Lance's first game as captain is absolutely amazing and is just another example of how a completely out-of-touch Pagan continues to undermine player self-belief.
If you want to get rid of a leader, let's get rid of the one who can't recognize a buck when it stops at his desk - Pagan. Not Lance.
And while we're on the subject of the Red Rooster, why don't you ask your insider what position he plays best...
