But yes we have a game plan.. but tell us what it is...
what are we doiung out there with the ball and without the ball.
How are we moving the ball from defence to attack???
Kick outs??? Whats the plan???
How many times are we blocking.. especially in defence when we can clear but noone blocks.
If Denis cant teach it.. its time he stands aside for someone wo can.!!!
There has to be a game plan, of some sort. That doesn't imply that it is the right one though. Even you say so yourself Synbad, the game plan, whether it's full on flooding or not, is too defensive.
I think tactically speaking we seem to not be executing any of your areas of concern; we lack flexibility; and the game plan seems one dimensional.
At present we have more kids than I've seen with any team in the past. You have also said in the recent past that we lack enough quality players and experience on the field, and that is what Denis has to work with. He is no doubt limited in what he can do with what he has got. You have also stated consistently, that we lack leaders too, and I agree with that.
My incling is that if there is a plan and they talk about it at training and at meetings, which I suspect that they do (whether it's Denis' game plan or the leadership group's) they are not executing it. If that is the case, then I would suggest that there is not enough 'leaders' or senior players executing it correctly, and therefore not showing the way to the kids and they are not training effectively or enough on these tactics you mention.
Someone has to show how it's done, and as you've said in the past, there is not enough 'support' or 'talent' to execute if there is a plan.
The bottom line for me is that we are victims of our own past. It started with Ian Rice, and ended when Elliot was gone. That wasn't that long ago. Have a look at our facilties, our full time coaching staff, our finances and compare them to the teams that are doing well. There's a lot in that. I'm sure Denis has made mistakes and enemies too.
The current batch of kids are exciting. We're too young and inexperienced to execute plans to our expectation, and have a lot of work to do to improve. I don't doubt that Denis has some learning and adjusting to do. My question consistently focusses on his support staff and their capabilities.
It's not a one man show.
