You guys must be nuts if you think he is ready for the ruck.
He barely has a grasp on the fundamentals of the game.
Please leave him down back where he can best learn the game with the support of Whitnall & Thornton.
Whats wrong with 1 qrt in the ruck, im not saying make him number 1 ruckman. Hes not ready for AFL but hes playing, its a suggestion, try him in the ruck in defence, what so hard about run at the ball and hit it, is Barnaby French a scientist that he can run and hit the ball and Carlos can't. Whats so hard about Ruck its the easiest thing in the world, u dont have to catch it, kick it or handball it, tap it or smack it.
The problem is ruck is a very independent position. Positioning, reading the play, when to move off your opponent, when to cramp them up, is a very individual facet of our sport. It takes players born into the code playing ruck from the age of 12, until about 24-26 to master.
Don't get me wrong, I love watching Sedanta at the moment. He is visibly improving each game. But I firmly believe that this is due to allowing him to concentrate on relatively few issues at a time. Playing him in 1 area only allows this development.
Cheers.
