This will be the trade for the future for most clubs. the chance to pick up a 10 year player of top quality will mean most, if not all, hang on to their first rounder.
The only deal I'd consider giving up a first rounder from Carlton would involve Fev. You gotta ask yourself 'are you feelinin lucky, punk?' cause the downside wouldn't be pretty.
Nicely done Brizzy, lots of effort, but I wonder if you've put too much credit on Livo, ADL and Houla?? They're hardly enticing trade bait.
Sure, if someone came to the table with an offer for Lance or Stevo that involved a top 15 pick - take it, but I can't see it happening. We'll be happy with 1,17,18 and what looks to be a handy PSD #1.
I'd hang onto Harts and Rusty for another year or two and include them in the future. Hartlett is big and getting bigger and will fit nicely in the back half once fit.
My concern is with Fish and Waite who've shown glimpses but keep coming up short. To trade Waite would be a sin given his old mans history - surely football romance is still alive in the dark corners of the halls and change rooms??
I saw Fisher on the weekend. His contested marking is outstanding, almost unique for a guy of his size. Mskes him a prick of a match-up when he's fit. The only thing that may have him "short" so far has been injuries. His kicking needs work but then again so did Stewart Loewe's early in his career. It can be worked on.
As for people wanting to trade Lance and Stevo, there's one more year on their contracts, big contratcs, so they're not going anywhere. Best using you're "keyboard energy" on some other Carlton matter.
