Because, as some of you idiots don't realise, we are behind the 8 ball, our brand has been forever tarnished; it takes years to get it back.

Get a grip some of you; too immature to realise that we are in trouble if we don't gain more national exposure and draw in money from other parts of the country and other sponsors.

CC are you saying we are wasting away and that the brand is tarnished forever in one breath, and then in the other suggesting we can recover with 'bold intitiatives' by embracing more national exposure, that would result in drawing in more money from interstate supporters and sponsors?

If there's a possibility, and there is, to recover by voicing a vision and communicating a plan, then the brand is not tarnished 'forever'. Brands do recover very quickly; perception is reality. People tend to remember the last thing to happen; present tense. If we start putting more good news stories out there and win a few more games with the kids, the last story will be a good story. The market responds accordingly.

We're lining up the ducks, and a resurgence is around the corner. Patience and passion from supporters will help our image.

MARKETING!!!!!!!

We need to sell to the lost members and next generation of members.

We have to get to 40,000 members and create a positive feeling about the club to get the appropriate corporate support.

This current admin are incapable of doing this.

THERE MUST BE MASSIVE CHANGE!!!!

That is right. As has been said before, the board needs to shrewdly sell the 'youth policy' and our promising early picks to supporters -- to really give us hope, if nothing else.

The tools are there. I'm guessing that we'll pick Gibbs, and the media and marketing opportunity accompanying his recruitment will be huge. Couple that with Marc Murphy, who many consider to be a future captain -- even Fev who boldly stated that he will be in 2 or 3 years.

Add Simpson, Walker, Bentick, Russel, Setanta -- it is all there to powerfully sell the future promise and success of the CFC.

I think that they are trying to sell this message, but it isn't quite working or gelling at the moment.

Add in an extra PP -- the 'youth policy' and young talent branding of the club skyrockets.

I guess it's about being proactive, open and transparent, and really communicating a strong and streamlined message of hope to the members and supporters.

If it all clicked I believe that 40,000 members is within reach.

Smorgon & Pagan aren't the quality of salesmen we NEED at the moment.

Nothing yet Molly - just had a chat to the Club this morning and they're keen to promote access and the names of the kids as the future of the Club. Apparently our membership leaflets & slogans will all be about the future, and it seems like we're going to get pretty open access, starting soon. Its exciting - mostly because the Club is on the front foot and planning the next few months. To some extent they have to but equally I didn't expect this. It's good. The forward story is so much better than the past 5 years so we should be out & about on it.

History = Exceptional
Present = Woeful
Future = Smiley

Good stuff!

I do think the club are trying their best... and the signs at the moment seem a lot more encouraging in the marketing area in particular. Now if only we had a new coach to 'sell' to our members we could have a really solid basis for a membership drive :-D

Since the present is so shit, but the future hopefully rosy, the jingle for the campaign should be the Fleetwood Mac song "Don't Stop"...

Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow,
Don't stop, it'll soon be here,
It'll be, better than before,
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.

Highly appropriate for selling a "bright future" message.

Have had a peek at next years membership brochure and there is a huge photo of the kids. A continuation of the 'Something Blue' theme, but a massive pic with MM, Simmo, Josh Kennedy, Eddie Betts and.......Brad Fisher!! I said in another post, if they are going to trade Fish they are going to have to re-print all of the membership brochures.

Fisher as well as Eddie have re-signed with the club - it was in the paper on Saturday.

Not sure why the club has not mentioned yet.

Is it the fact that we are spoiled for good news that it has not been posted on site?
