i would not make fev captain as he has had 1 good year, in which lost his cool on more than 1 occassion... as a captain you need to be a leader and someone that the rest of the players can look up to. if he drops his head which he has been prone to doing in the past then what message will that give to the rest of the team.
Stevo is soft...you need a player who can get the ball for themselves instead of being intimidated whenever they go near the ball or get the ball passed to them.
Rotating captain means that players, younger ones in particular, have no-one to look up to on and off the field
i think that lance is the only option as he goes about his footy in the right manner. he plays out of position and has such an understanding of the game that he can beat a bigger player.
we are still a few years away from any of the younger players being able to do it so in im opinion the best option is lance.
Hear hear Moshe,
Fev is the best candidate by a county mile.
One semi sulk this year (big deal!), our only true marquee player (at this stage), idolised by the younger players and a complete magnet for the media and footy public at large. What better way to propel this club forward? And like we don't need it!!
The guy is your classic larrikin but so what. Larrikins don't make good leaders???
And for this nonsense about 'one all round good year is not good enough, I want to see more evidence of Fev's maturity' crap. Maybe a valid argument if we had a wide choice of potential captains, but we don't.
Lance is not the answer, his physical shortcomings are as great as Fev's mental ones, his longevity in the game looks limited and he has zero marketing/media ability/potential.
IMO this decision is a no brainer, choosing Fev is EXACTLY what the clubs needs to do given the recent crap and impending off field changes.
Surprise me CFC
