We work on the Kevin Muscat principle over at TC - you aint a player unless you have at least 1 yellow card.

Unfortunately, AGRO, our board and club are so beholden to the AFL that they didn't even feel they could protest too loudly over the AFL's handling of Fevola, for fear of some sort of retribution.

We are owned. O-W-N-E-D

Well I have made sure that my voting registration details are up to date I would encourage everyone else to make sure that theirs are too.

If something is going to happen this Friday (or the next Friday) or even this monday - I want to make sure I can vote on it.

All Smorgon and Co need to do is bail that wanker from the protests and send him down to AFL house. Give us our priority pick in the first round

whoah... that was meant to go in the Priority Pick post. Don't know how that happened (but pleased to see that your anti-AFL rader is still in fine working order, AGRO)

These people wil be putting in their own money...and have a plan that will attract money

see the difference???

The reasons for Smorgon not putting in MORE money (he already has put in IIRC) are pure speculation on your behalf. Let's stick to the known huh?

Quote:
But anyway... i know its all too hard for you to understand....the concept of faith in investment...

It raises its ugly head again. I said I'd support whoever brings in the money but because I ask questions and don't blindly accept everything, you go and turn into a smug wanker again. (I'll take the yellow card gladly Mrs C).

Do you really rate yourself that much? You really have no heart for a two sided conversation do you Synbad?

Of course i can argue.. but you keep g9iving me hypotheticals...

Like the money.....

Well i keep telling you the money is coming in ebcause there will be a plan unlike currently..

And you will give me another hypothetical like... "what if they dont have the money can put a plan into place?"

and ill tell you..... the reason why people will invest in the club is because there WILL BE A PLAN...!!!

So either you didnt get a grasp of comprehension or you couldnt make the debating team... either way youre way out of your depth.,..

Paraphrasing is not your strong point Synbad. Allow me ...

*People will invest in the club because there will be a plan. I get it, never said otherwise. Take it as read and stop shouting.

That plan is not to take the club from a $7m plus debt to a cash positive position is it? Are the new ticket forming a plan based on the same set of circumstances Smorgon and co are faced with right now, seeing how it flies, and then once the money men see the plan, they say 'okay' and pour in the funds. The new board then tear up the plan they formulated to get themselves out of the debt and make a new plan because they are now out of the debt? My guess is no.

So they have to come up with a plan for getting the club back on the map, improving revenue, improving memberships, improving marketing etc etc. Would that be correct? They show that plan, the money comes in and we are good to go.

My point is that Smorgon and the current board can not make a plan for how to take the club forward without first considering the fragile state of our finances and whether it is responsible to spend money we do not have.

So each party are not coming from the same place are they? One has the assurance of extra funds, the other doesn't.

If Smorgon went to these same people and said that he has a plan for taking the club forward from a cash positive position if they put the cash in, what would they say? The fact is the only plan he can put in place is one from a dire financial perspective.

You say he won't put his own money in because he doesn't have faith in his own plan. Apart from the fact he did put money in, he is one person. How many extremely wealthy supporters are putting in their smaller contributions relatively speaking, to make up to the full amount? How long is it taking to ensure that money will be there? I don't see any of them clambering over each other to make a one off $7m donation.

I digress, because I don't wish to make light of what sounds like a very generous and necessary input from these guys. They will all have my undying admiration and my support for their venture, make no mistake about it.

I'm one for hearing both sides though and in your efforts to promote the new ticket, you continually take pot shots at the other side. It is completely unnecessary and unproductive for you to do so. I'm no Smorgon fan but I'd wager he has done a lot more for the club than most have, and certainly doesn't need a dirty political campaign to be run by the likes of you.

As I said, no heart for the debate. Your heart is in the right place in regards to the club no doubt but when it comes to people skills, it is all about bullying, belittling, dividing and conquering. When you start believing your own plaudits, you turn into not a very nice person. A prime example of the sort of thing I don't want to know about fellow supporters because it tarnishes the whole experience for me that little bit.

Out of my depth? Please, get some desirable human traits and then we'll talk.

I hear ya. Do these things expire or are they lifetime achievement awards? I see some things just as questionable but no warnings, so I figure there is a timeframe attached.

Both sides will stick to the argument or say nothing at all.

No more personal pot-shots please.

I'd love to and usually do. From BigFooty to Talking Carlton however, any query in relation to the other party meets with calls of 'head in the sand', 'lack of comprehension skills' etc.

I stand by my personal observations but I won't repeat them. Just thought it necessary to voice that one of the TC poster boys is not everybody's hero.

If he refrains from the backhanders, I've been nothing but polite and constructive.

FACTS ARE Smorgon doesn't have the financial backing or plan to get our club out of the shit. We'll be treading water and kissing Demetriou's arse for years to come. NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Looking at Mrs Caz with a boy stood on the burning deck expression. :P

Well said ODN - I wouldn't call him a poster boy either!

There are three certainties in life ... death, taxes and the permanancy of TC warnings.

I guess once you've had the AFL mafia on your tail, a TC warning helps sustain your desire to be disciplined until the next attack.

An apt line from said poem.

You took from me my home, my gold.
You took from me my dotcom.
You only could have had me cold
by dealing from the bottom!

I think there is something in that for all of us. :)

the warnings seem to be permanent (maybe they disappear after 3 and the enforced hol?)

and I know it doesn't matter ODN but we are more of a Catholic forum, we belt you for how you say it, not what you say, so insult Synners all you want just refrain from calling him a wanker, a moron etc. Merely question his intelligence rather than stating its lack. Seems that's okay. 8)
