Actually given SHAGFAN has said Mark Harrison runs a company called "Ash Morgan" one presumes that Ashe (with one post) is actually Mark.

And would that make Shagfan Mr Moulton then ... or am I not digging deep enough?

You know... when some people are happy to sit back cross their fingers and assume everything is going just dandy... you just know its a recipe for disaster.

i hope people can see whats looming if we stick our heads in the sand or just are content to sit back and hope for the best...

better get involved come election day... because right now all clubs resources are being used to shore up the power of the existing heirarchy and there is little energy going into anything else...

When the time comes and if you are feeling unsatisfied with where this club stands right at this minute and where this club is heading .. i would urge you to make an effort... vote... and make sure your friends vote.

We just cant sit back and hope for the best when really the wallapaper is falling off and the walls are tumbling down.

Smorgon and Co are a disgrace... what this club has built in 130 odd years is collapsing in the hands of a the people who have run this club over the last 10.

Smorgon is more dangerous than them all because he doesnt understand what a football club is.. he is treating it as his own personal toy without the passion Elliot had for the club and a toy he doesnt want to spend money on himself.
Its purely selfishness in my opinion and its affecting me personally.

I want to know what will he do when the AFL call him for their 1.5 million dollars at the end of next year???.... will he ask for more good money to go after bad???
I want to know how he feels sleeping at nights when noone wants to invest money in the club while he is around....
I wanna know how he feels that Mathieson left the board when he was going to hand over the running of TWO money making pokies venues that would have netted the club one million dollars a year but he had no faith in Smorgon.
I wanna know where Smorgon thinks he is taking this club

There are alot of things i want to know.... but most importantly i want to know where smorgons pride is... does the man understand what the Carlton Football Club really is????

Any club constitution that allows these sorts of self-serving shenanigans is surely fundamentally flawed. Yet another dark off-field day for the club, and one that sadly brings us no closer to peace or resolution.

The pokies point is a really interesting one.

AFAIK this offer has been known about for months now but it now looks like it is off the table.

A boost in revenue year on year of $1M would be fantastic for the club and get the club on it's way to growing from a $20m business to a $30M+ business.

Not sure why such an offer would be ignored. Surely Bruce Matheison was not putting any unrealistic conditions on it. If it was just a clash of perosnalities/politics then that is really sad and a great loss for the club.

Oh dear.

I want to know how the board can arbitrarily expand itself? I understand that if there are vacancies cause two people left that they could be filled temporarily until the next election, but on what basis can Smorgan just add two extra people? Surely that's against the club constitution, and if it's not, it should be.

The pokies thing was from the horses mouth himself to me around March or April of last year... he told me then "first of July"

It was to be his going away present to the club...

Noone has any faith in Smorgon.

Because number one he doesnt contribute himself....and he has the money and number 2 because he isnt contributing he is going to the AFL far too easily...

What some people wanted to do is to make sure people put some of their own hard earnt in so that theyre more accountable...

How can you be accountable when you have nothing risked???

Bruce was just on SEN. Very passionate man.

Ideally Bruce wants ALL Carlton heavy hitters to put there hand in pocket and donate an equal amount to assist the club.

The heavy hitters haven't spoken to the club at all about assisting.

On the new board, he hasn't heard anything concrete but would support a new board coming in IF they had the money behind them, substantial money at that.

He also said the Club has improved significantly from 4 years ago, but is still along way from West Coast, Adelaide and Collingwood and that we need to not only match them, but pass these clubs.

It was the most reasoned unbiased interview I've heard on the issue. It was a bit hard to tell which side he supported, but when he was talking about a possible new ticket IMO he was more supportive of the them.

Well said, it will be good to hear different views and opinions instead of one person crapping on about the same stuff over and over again pretending to be 'in the know' without actually knowing anything.

the trouble that Bruce has is he is an extremely loyal man.
If you talk to him ''loyalty' is very high up in his set of prerequsites that he expects from those around him.

He wont bag Smorgon as "not everyone put their hand up when it was needed.. these people did"

"when your dad dies when youre very young... if people help you thats great and youre loyal to that..... and if you grow up and youre powerful and rich.. you dont need anyones help.. you need it when you need it..."

In his heart he knows Smorgon and the Carlton 1 group are unsatisfactory.. but theyre the ones that ran with him so he wont bag them...

Bruce wants change...!!!... i think he has indicated this.

We have more than one person on this forum outside of Synbad telling the same story KingKerna. Not to mention Caroline Wilson who backs most of the stories up on here.

Carlton is not close to the likes of WCE, Adelaide, Collingwood, brisbane ...as eloquently explained in pulp fiction, not in the same league, the same ballpark, not even the same @#$%&! sport.....

You have to admit Synbad that you have got most things wrong over the last couple of years. I sometimes think that people are using you to cloud the waters.

Agree with what you are saying, don't for one second think that I am happy about how things are - mainly caused by the 'sack the coach backflip' - however I don't go on and on and on about it. It is easy to whinge day after to day - harder to get off your arse and make a difference. The sooner we have the AGM the better, then we can move forward and look at positives instead of negatives all the time.

As far as i can see there is only one solution:
Sack the entire board and bring in an external administrator. We have a bunch of fools running a multi-million dollar organisation and they are continuing to run us into the ground.
We have had atleast 6 years of shocking administration which has seen us plunge further intop debt with no "blue skies" ahead despite the rhetoric we hear from the board and DP.
Our off-field position is worse than our onfield plight and that is actually quite a feat!

GS has failed the members with his lack of leadership and the entire board including Sticks must go and every position should be up for re-election. Instead of fixning the situation they waste their time with infighting and stumbling from one crisis to another. 2 extra board members who's brain wave was that?

This beyond a joke and unless things change very soon by 2010 there will no longer be an independant CFC - either we will dissolve or merge.

But what makes you think people here arent getting off their arses to make YOUR life a more happy one???

You cant look at yourself and judge the others...

Sure club29 ive been wrong....

usually only half wrong though... i did look into my magic crystal guessing ball and predict the last in board get rid of smorgon meeting and a day...
The problem is i got my numbers wrong... i had it at 5 for Malouf and therefore smorgon to go.. and 4 against... and it was the other way round.

Unfortunately Gleeson changed his mind and didnt abstain and Matheison fearing Smorgon would have to use his own casting vote to keep himself alive abstained.. so the club isnt more embarassing than it is...

And yes im wrong... i also predicted Pagan was out... before the day of his reckoning and the day it was happening... what did Brown say???

7-3 flip flop flip flop.. 0-10????

Its hard to be accurate when they have no idea what theyre doing themselves...
