Whilst I completely understood what Synbad was saying, yet he had no idea what my reply meant, I have to admit I've got no idea what you're on about AGRO. Care to enlighten me?

CC this would have to be the greatest lot of dribble I have ever read. Do really think supporters want instant success and want flags ever year. No supporters want to follow their team and watch them have a go. They want them to play as a team and wether their good enough or not at least you know there is group of blokes out there doing their best . Kids want to grow up with the favourite players number on their back -they dont want to here that he is getting traded or delisted because the club only has one thing on its mind and thats to win the next flag. There is more to a football club than winning flags - there is a culture and that culture left with the departure of David Parkin. I think Parko would have found more pleasure in watching guys like Hulme and Franchinna playing their 100 games than anything else. Guys with bugger all talent but busted their gut every week
You cant create and enviroment like this by turning over 12 - 20 players each year . this enviroment is created by a group of blokes who grow together and play for each other. You dont get a winning culture by turfing out 100+ game players and replacing with some fringe playing from another club. You cant create a winning culture and more importantly a club culture when there is continued talk of whos in and whos out. The players all of a sudden start playing for themselves and not the team . A team will only ever win a flag when they have stopped playing for themselves and are playing as a group. When there is continual speculation of you playing future or your mates playing future this will never happen . Sure there will be 2-3 players each year that are moved on to make way for new young talent - but it is should be a gradual process not like the way it has been done recently at this club.
I personally could care less wether we win a flag for the next 20 years I just want to see a group of blokes playing for The Blues and enjoying doing so.

The people who are demanding the success are guys like yourself and Synbad and co who are praying that we bottom out to get the good picks. Not the supporters who are questioning DP tactics in a particular game because they might want to see their side win or be competitive

SB, you conveniently forget that the culture that left with David Parkin was the following:

1. Weights are optional.
2. Training should only be done at half intensity
3. If you've been at Carlton for more than 5 years then you don't need to extra training or stay out to help the younger kids.
4. I'll get the money I ask for because I ask for it.

Why did Brittain coach us to a spoon in 2002 if he was all about mateship and so on and so forth and he was a Parkin protege?

You don't get the point of my post do you?

The point was, in case you didn't get it, was that people expect short-term success when it's not going to happen. To develop a winning culture, to develop a team that plays for itself and its coach, that plays for the jumper, that takes time.

Too right I demand success and your post demonstrates that you do too. I want it done properly, not a mish-mash job.

From what I've observed on TC over the last couple of weeks it seems a lot of supporters want short-term success and think we're not that bad. Sorry, but the culture is all wrong and has been since Pagan got here because the culture that was in the Parkin era has lingered. Pagan wants a new culture and he'll get his way.

Of course some of his tactics can be questioned, read in my original post where i said that some of Pagan's coaching needs to be looked at. Don't just see "post by CarltonClem" and decide it's rubbish. I don't think you even read what i wrote in its entirety.
