Campo has been performing better than Stevens and Kouta in recent weeks.....
having watched these 3 very closely on Sunday, I would beg to differ.
I did say over "recent weeks", not just on Sunday.
In my opinion Stevens has struggled since the Adelaide game in Round 10, after which, or was it before which, it was revealed that he was afflicted by the flu. People say that Nick has struggled to overcome the effects of the flu and if that's the case then you have to cut him some slack. But, in the games since, he has been well and truly beaten on the whole by players like Luke Ablett, Troy Selwood, Daniel Cross, Tyson Stenglein, Steven Baker/McQualter and Ryan Crowley. These taggers have had the better of Nick over the last six weeks. Flu/injuries or not, Stevens has not beaten or even broke even with one of his opponents over this period Headplant.
Kouta has also been struggling for mine although he was better on Sunday definitely. He might have had 28 touches against Brisbane but I don't think he played particularly well that night. He had close to 30 touches on the weekend but whilst I thought his game was one of his better ones for a while, he still wasn't what I'd call 'great' or even 'very good' but was just 'decent enough'. Otherwise, look at the games against the Bulldogs, WCE and St. Kilda etc and you'll find that Kouta hasn't been playing all that well recently.
Camporeale in my opinion has been the best of the three recently. That's not to say that Camporeale has even been that good. He hasn't, but his performances I believe have been superior to those of Stevens and Kouta. I thought he did pretty well on Sunday, yes, he doesn't chase as much as we'd like and he has some flaws in his game but for mine he did show some leadership and at least he found some footy. I thought he was decent against the Saints too having had the job on Nick Dal Santo who I thought Campo beat in the first half but struggled more after half time as the Saints avalanche of goals occurred.
I don't know your opinion on the whole Camporeale situation Headplant but I hope that you are able to judge his matches objectively and on their own merits. Not suggesting you aren't, it's just that a lot of people here don't judge his performances objectively, letting their anti-Campo biases cloud their judgments.
